NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - A group of local companies have worked together to produce a "healthy hotdog." They say there is nothing like it on the market.

The idea came from Pat McCann, of Piggy Pat's. After suffering a medical emergency years ago, he started to research food and what he was actually putting into his body.

"Our food supply is so toxic and there's so many chemicals and all the big food companies put crap in our food and we aren't warned about it we're not even aware of it," said McCann. "Being in the restaurant business and having grandchildren and children I wanted to produce something that would make a difference before I leave this planet. I feel like God kept me alive for a reason."
